About Axis Gold ETF Fund
Axis Gold ETF fund is a scheme aimed at generating returns that are in line with the performance of gold. The fund manager aims to generate long term capital appreciation by investing predominantly in gold in order to generate returns similar to the performance of gold, subject to tracking error.
Pros & Cons of Axis Gold ETF
Axis Gold ETF offers the following benefits: 1. Gold ETFs are funds of open ended nature; hence investors can any time do buying and selling units of gold ETF. 2. The Fund Manager invests all of its funds in gold, except to meet its liquidity requirements. So gold performance is mirrored broadly. 3. Returns might not beat the indices but guarantee a steady return over a long term keeping the capital secure.
Certain drawbacks of Axis Gold ETF: 1. Since these funds follow gold prices, if gold prices decline due to macro-economic factors, gold ETFs will also decline. 2. Gold ETFs are not instruments to beat or outperform gold prices. 3. Many experts feel rather than choosing gold ETFs, accumulation of gold for long term is easy. It is the safest way and there is no question of purity.
