About Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund

Being an open-ended fund, the scheme seeks to generate long term capital appreciation from a portfolio that subsequently invests its fund in equity and its related securities of Midcap companies. Upto 50% of the permissible investments of the net assets of the fund are also invested in the foreign securities by the scheme.

Edelweiss Mid Cap was launched on 26th December, 2007 by Edelweiss Mutual Fund.

ii) Risk level

The scheme carries a high level of risk. Depending on various factors and forces affecting capital markets can make the NAV of the units go up and down. These investments are always subject to market risk.

iii) Redemption

Within 3 business days from the date of acceptance of redemption request the proceeds is normally paid out to the unit holders. Prescribed by SEBI regulations the maximum permissible timeline is 10 business days.

iv) Fund Manager

Mr.Harshad Patwardhan is the fund manager of Edelweiss Mid Cap since 2007.

v) Entry / Exit load

There is no exit load applicable for investing in this scheme. 1% of exit load is applicable if redeemed within 12 months from the date of allotment.

Tax benefit of investing in Edelweiss Mid Cap

Long Term Capital Gains (“LTCG”), in excess of Rs 1 lakh, are taxed @ 10% without indexation if units are held for more than 12 months. Short term capital gains (“STCG”) are taxed @ 15% if units are held for less than 12 months. Investors do not pay any tax on dividends received but a Dividend Distribution Tax (“DDT”) is deducted by the fund house at source.
