About Franklin India Credit Risk Fund
The Scheme is a fixed income scheme that seeks to maximize portfolio yield by primarily investing in AA and below rated corporate bonds (exclusive of AA+ rated corporate bonds). The Scheme is alternative to short term savings instruments and suitable for regular income and reasonable capital appreciation along with diversification from equities. The Scheme is benchmarked against Crisil Short Term Bond Fund Index and Crisil 10 year Gilt Index.

Fund Information and Statistics of Franklin India Credit Risk Fund
i) Inception / Launch date
The Scheme was launched on 7 December 2011. The Scheme was earlier known as Franklin India Corporate Bond Opportunities Fund.
ii) Risk level
Being a debt fund, the scheme is moderately risky and suitable if the investment horizon is 3 years or more.
The Scheme is open for repurchase/redemptions on all business days. Redemption proceeds are despatched within 10 business days from the date of the receipt of valid redemption request.
iv) Fund Manager
The Scheme is currently being jointly managed by Mr Santosh Kamath who is managing the scheme since April 2014.
v) Entry / Exit load
Upto 10% of units can be redeemed without any exit load in each year from the date of allotment. Any redemption in excess of 10% is subject to the following exit load:
- 3% of exit load if redeemed on or before 12 months from date of allotment
- 2% of exit load if redeemed after 12 months but within 24 months from date of allotment
- 1% of exit load if redeemed after 24 months but within 36 months from date of allotment
- No exit load is charged if redeemed after 36 months of allotment
Tax benefits of investing in Franklin India Credit Risk Fund
Long term capital gains are taxed at the rate of 20% after indexation (if held for 36 months or more). Short term gains are added to income and subject to short term capital gain tax as per income tax slab under the Act.
