i) Inception / Launch date

The HDFC Gold Fund was launched on November 01, 2011 by HDFC Mutual Funds.

HDFC Gold Fund is a moderately high-risk bet and suitable for investors who have a long-term investment horizon of more than 3 years.

iii) Redemption

The application for redemption can be sent to any of the official points of acceptance. If the application is made before 3 PM, NAV of the same day would be applicable or if made after 3 PM, the NAV of the next business day would be applicable.

iv) Fund Manager

HDFC Gold Fund is managed by Mr Krishan Kumar Daga since October 19, 2015. He comes with a collective experience of 28 years in fund management and equity research.

v) Entry / Exit load

The fund house does not charge any entry load but charges 2% exit load if redeemed within six-months of allotment. An exit load of 1% is charged if redeemed within six months to one year of allotment, whereas no exit load is charged if redeemed after 1 year.

Tax benefits of investing in HDFC Gold Fund

The Short-term capital gain tax will be levied as per the income tax slab rate if units are held for less than 36 months. A long-term capital gains tax of 20% is applicable with indexation if units are held for more than 36 months. Other cess and surcharges are also applicable as per the law.

HDFC Mutual Fund was amalgamated under the Companies Act of 1956, on December 10, 1999. Later, it was approved to act as an Asset Management Company for the HDFC Mutual Fund by SEBI.
