About HDFC Index Fund - Sensex Plan - Direct Plan - Growth
This open-ended scheme replicates or tracks S&P BSE SENSEX Index. The scheme is passively managed by investing in stocks in proportions similar to the weightages of stocks in the S&P BSE SENSEX Index. It tries to minimise the tracking error through regular rebalancing of the portfolio with consideration to the change in weights of stocks in the index as well as the incremental collections/redemptions.

The one-year, three-year, and five-year returns from the fund are higher than the category average returns. But the risk-adjusted returns of the fund are lower as compared to the category.
Fund Information and Statistics
i) Inception/Launch Date
The fund scheme was rolled out on 17 July 2002.
ii) Risk Level
Investors who are ready for moderately high risk can invest in this fund since it invests in long-term equity securities covered by the S&P BSE Sensex.
iii) Redemption
No lock-in period applicable making it easier for investors to redeem fund units. However, consider the exit load before redeeming.
iv) Fund Manager
Mr Krishan Kumar Daga and Mr Arun Agarwal are the current Fund Managers.
v) Entry/Exit Load
Entry load is not charged when you purchase fund units. An exit load of 0.25% is charged when you redeem/switch out fund units within 3 days from the date of allotment. After completing 3 days, no exit load will be charged.
