About ICICI Prudential Ultra Short Term Fund
The ICICI Prudential Ultra Short Term Fund is an open-ended, ultra short-term debt scheme. It seeks to generate short-term regular income by investing in debt securities and money market instruments of varying maturities. It was earlier known as ICICI Prudential Regular Income Fund and was renamed as ICICI Prudential Ultra Short Term Fund on May 28, 2018.

- The scheme seeks to offer short-term regular income by investing in debt and money market instruments such that the Macaulay Duration of the portfolio is between 3 and 6 months.
- As on September 30, 2018, the scheme is not ranked under CRISIL’s Ultra Short Duration Fund category.
- Further, it has generated returns of 9.6% per year over the last 5 years (as on January 04, 2018).

i) Inception / Launch date
The scheme was launched on 03 May 2011 by ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund.
ii) Risk level
The scheme is suitable for investors seeking short-term income generation and invests in debt and money market securities carrying a moderate risk level.
The minimum redemption amount is Rs. 500. Further, the redemption proceeds are dispatched within 10 business days of the receipt of a valid redemption request.
iv) Fund Manager
Mr. Manish Banthia (since November 2016), and Mr. Ritesh Lunawat (since June 2017) are the Fund Managers of the ICICI Prudential Ultra Short Term Fund.
v) Entry / Exit load
There is no entry load or exit load in this scheme. There was an exit load charged earlier which was changed to ‘Nil’ from August 01, 2018.
Tax benefits of investing in ICICI Prudential Short Term Fund
The following taxes are applicable to income arising from investing in this scheme: 1. STCG from the debt component is added to the investor’s income and taxed as per the income-tax slab. 2. LTCG component is taxed at 20% with indexation benefits.
