About IDFC Arbitrage Fund
Being an open–ended fund, the scheme seeks to generate income and capital appreciation predominantly investing in arbitrage opportunities in the cash and the arbitrage opportunities offered by the derivatives segment of the equity market and by investing the balance in money market instruments and debt instruments.

i) Inception / Launch date
The IDFC Arbitrage Fund was launched on 21 December 2006 by IDFC Mutual Fund.
ii) Risk level
As the fund is primarily invested in the debt instruments they are subject to credit risk and interest rate risk, including possible loss of the principal. With the fall of interest rate the returns from arbitrage also fall. There may be increased risk of liquidity risk in the portfolio, may be due to the evolving nature of the floating rate market from time to time.
iii) Redemption
The dispatch of redemption proceeds within 10 business days from the date of receipt of redemption request from the unit holder.
iv) Fund Manager
Mr.Arpit Kapoor since March 2017, Mr.Yogik Pitti since June 2013 and Mr.Harshal Joshi since October 2016 are the fund managers of IDFC Arbitrage Fund.
v) Entry / Exit load
The entry load is NIL for this investment. The exit load of 0.25% is applicable if units are redeemed within 1 month.
Tax benefits of investing in IDFC Arbitrage Fund
The short-term capital gains made on sale of units within 1 year from the date of allotment are taxed at the rate of 15%. The long term capital gains, over and above Rs 1 lakh, made on sale of units after 1 year from the date of allotment are taxed at concessional rate of 10% (without indexation). Investors do not pay any tax on dividends received but a Dividend Distribution Tax (“DDT”) is deducted by the fund house at source.
