About SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund
SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund is an open-ended scheme that only invests in arbitrage opportunities. The major focus of the scheme is to provide capital growth and regular income. A maximum of 85% of the assets will be invested in arbitrage schemes between equity & equity-related instruments and derivatives, such as stock futures, index futures, index options, and stock options.
Pros and Cons of SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund
The fund does not show consistency in generating returns and has a low capability of generating risk-adjusted returns. However, the scheme has the ability to protect losses during market downtime and is immune to excessive fluctuations in returns. Also, the age of the fund is beyond 5 years and hence, is reliable.

i) Inception/Launch Date SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund was launched on 3 November 2006.
ii) Risk level The risk level associated with this fund is moderately low as the scheme invites for short-term investments.
iii) Redemption There is no lock-in period applicable to SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund.
iv) Fund Manager Mr Neeraj Kumar is the current Fund Manager of SBI Arbitrage Opportunities Fund.
v) Entry/Exit Load As per the SEBI’s order, entry load is not applicable to any mutual fund purchase. On the other hand, a 0.25% exit load will be charged if the fund units are redeemed or switched out within a month from the date of allotment. If you redeem/switch-out after a month, then no exit load applies.

SBI Funds Management Private Limited was established in 1992. SBI Mutual Fund company’s sponsor is the State Bank of India and the trustee is SBI Mutual Fund Trustee Company Private Limited. The Assets Under Management (AUM) of the fund house is Rs.5,200.66 crore as on 31 May 2020.
