The government is likely to release the PM-Kisan 15th installment between November 2023 and December 2023. However, there is no official announcement regarding this. Beneficiaries will receive Rs.2,000 under the 15th installment of PM-Kisan directly to their bank accounts.
The Prime Minister released the 14th installment of PM-Kisan on 27th July 2023 to more than 8.5 crore framers. In the 14th installment, an amount of more than Rs.17,000 crores was transferred to the bank accounts of more than 8.5 crore farmers of the country. The farmers will receive Rs.2,000 under the 14th installment of PM-Kisan directly to their bank accounts.
The Prime Minister released the 13th installment of PM-Kisan on 27th February 2023 at 3:00 p.m. The 13th installment of Rs.2,000 for each beneficiary was released to 8 crore farmers’ families amounting to Rs.16,800 crore directly into their bank accounts. Beneficiaries who completed the PM-Kisan eKYC before the due date received the installment amount. The process to complete eKYC is given in this article below.
The government released the 12th installment amount of the PM-Kisan on 17th October 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi released Rs.16,000 crore to the PM-Kisan beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer. More than 8 crore framers received the 12th installment amount of Rs.2,000 through the bank account linked to the PM-Kisan Yojana. However, the beneficiary farmer must have completed their PM-Kisan eKYC process by 31 August 2022 to receive the 12th installment amount.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a Central Sector Scheme that provides income support to the families of landholding farmers in India. This scheme provides supplemental financial support to the farmers to procure various inputs related to agriculture and allied activities and their domestic needs.
PM-Kisan provides income support to all landholding farmers’ families who have cultivable lands. Under this scheme, 100% of funding is provided by the Government of India. It aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers in obtaining agriculture inputs for ensuring proper crop health and appropriate yield.
The State Government and UT administration identify the farmer families eligible for financial support under the scheme guidelines. After the beneficiaries are identified, the funds are directly transferred to their bank accounts under this scheme.

Under this scheme, all landholder farmers’ families are eligible to obtain the benefits. The landholder farmers’ family is defined under the scheme guidelines as a family consisting of a husband, wife and minor children who own cultivable land as per the land records of the respective state or UT. The existing land ownership system is used for identifying the beneficiaries.
The following categories of beneficiaries belonging to the higher economic status will not be eligible to obtain the benefits under the scheme.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, income support of Rs.6,000 per year is given to all farmer families having cultivable land in their name, irrespective of the size of their landholdings.
The amount of Rs.6,000 is given in three equal installments every year as follows:

The farmers need to have an Aadhaar card to avail the benefits of the PM-Kisan scheme. The farmers cannot enrol or register themselves as beneficiaries under the PM-Kisan scheme if they do have an Aadhaar card. The installment is released only on the basis of the Aadhaar seeded database.

The government has made e-KYC mandatory for the farmers registered under the PM-Kisan to obtain their installments under the scheme. Hence, farmers registered under the PM-Kisan scheme must get their e-KYC done before 31st August 2022. If the e-KYC has not been done by a farmer, he/she will not get the installment under the scheme.
The government had allowed farmers to do Aadhar-based eKYC through OTP authentication on the PM-Kisan portal. The process to complete eKYC through the PM-Kisan portal is as follows:
The farmers can also do e-KYC by going to the nearest CSC centres for Biometric authentication. The last date to do e-KYC has been extended from 31st March 2022 to 31st August 2022.
The government launched the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in 1988 which provides farmers with timely access to credit. The KCC scheme aimed at providing short-term formal credit to the farmers. The government has linked the KCC with the PM-Kisan scheme.
The PM-Kisan beneficiaries can apply for KCC cards and obtain short-term loans with low-interest rates under the KCC cards. The loans granted to the farmers under the KCC card provide them with a credit limit to purchase equipment and cover other expenses as well.

The beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan scheme can apply for PM-Kisan credit cards by following the procedure below:
Alternatively, the beneficiaries can also visit the bank website where they wish to apply for a PM-Kisan credit card, fill out the application form for the KCC card on the website and submit it online. The bank will process the application and provide the KCC card to the PM-Kisan beneficiaries.

The farmers can also download the PMKISAN mobile app from the google play store and register themselves. The farmers can download the PMKISAN mobile app directly from the Google Play Store or even go to the PM-Kisan website on their mobile and click on the ‘Download PMKISAN Mobile App’ option in the ‘Farmers Corner’ section.

The respective State and UTs will identify the beneficiaries. The details of farmers will be maintained by the states or UTs either in manual or electronic form. The benefits will be transferred to the beneficiaries directly to their bank accounts.
After submitting the PM-Kisan application either online on the PM-Kisan Portal or through the CSC, the farmers can check the status of their registration by following the below procedure:
The government publishes the list of PM-Kisan beneficiaries on the official PM-Kisan portal. After the farmers have registered on the portal, they can view their PM-Kisan status. The name of the farmers on the PM-Kisan beneficiary list will get the benefits of this scheme. The procedure for PM-Kisan status check is as follows:
Upon clicking on the ‘Get Data’ button, all the transaction information of the PM-Kisan beneficiary will be shown. The details of the last installment, the date of the last installment transferred to the beneficiary account and the bank account credited to will appear on the screen.

How will the beneficiaries under the PM-Kisan scheme be identified and shortlisted for payment of the benefits under the scheme?
The state government or the UT government is solely responsible for identifying the eligible farmers’ families for providing benefits under this scheme. After the registration of the farmers on the PM-Kisan portal, the prevailing record of lands or land ownership systems in different states or UTs will be used to identify and shortlist the beneficiaries for transferring the benefits under this scheme.
What is the reason for not getting the PM-Kisan scheme installment?
The installment of the PM-Kisan scheme can stop for many reasons. Some of the common reasons are –

Yes. The details given at the time of registration can be edited or changed on the PM-Kisan portal. The process for changing the details provided on the PM-Kisan registration is as follows:
Will the benefit under the PM-Kisan scheme be directly credited into the account of the beneficiaries?
The benefit of Rs.2,000 per installment will be directly credited into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Are farmers situated in urban areas eligible for receiving benefits under the PM-Kisan scheme?
Yes. There is no distinction between the rural and urban cultivable land under the scheme. Thus, both the farmers situated in rural and urban areas are covered under the scheme, provided that the lands situated in urban areas are under actual cultivation.
Can farmers avail the benefit of the PM-Kisan scheme against agricultural land being used for non-agricultural purposes?
No. The agricultural land being used for non-agricultural purposes is not covered under the scheme. Only the farmers having cultivable land used for agricultural purposes are eligible for receiving benefits under the scheme.
