Nippon India Prime Debt Fund, an open-ended debt scheme, invests in AA+ and above rated corporate bonds. The fund aims at generating income by investing in debt instruments that have different maturities. It maximises income, while striking a balance between yield, liquidity, and safety.

The fund comes with a zero-exit load. In addition, the historical data states that the three-year and five-year returns from the fund has been higher than the category average returns. Also, the fund comes with a moderate risk profile. However, you must keep in mind that the asset under management of the fund is yet to reach the benchmark of Rs.500 crore.

i) Inception/Launch Date Nippon India Prime Debt Fund was initiated on 14 September 2000.
ii) Risk Level Nippon India Prime Debt Fund involves a moderate risk profile and is suitable for those seeking income over medium term. The scheme invests in corporate bond market at different points in time. The funds are allocated based on short to medium term interest rate view and shape of the yield curve.
iii) Redemption The fund does not have a lock-in period. You can redeem the units at any time without having to worry about the extra cost it may add. However, the fund looks at an investment horizon of 6 to 12 months.
iv) Fund Manager Mr Vivek Sharma is working as the Fund Manager for Nippon India Prime Debt Fund.
v) Entry/Exit Load As per the SEBI order dated 30 June 2009, entry load will not be charged by the scheme to the investor. Alongside, no exit load will be levied on the units redeemed.
