About Franklin India Equity Fund (FIEF)
The Scheme is an open ended equity scheme investing across large cap, mid cap and small cap stocks. The scheme is offered under two plans i.e. direct plan and a regular plan. Additionally, both the variants are available in growth option and dividend (both re-investment and payout) option. The Scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 500 Index. The Fund has provided 18.15% return since inception. The AUM of the Fund is approx. 12,330 crore (as on 31 Oct 2018).

i) Inception / Launch date
The Scheme was launched on 29 September 1994. The Scheme was previously known as Franklin India Prima Plus Fund. .
ii) Risk level
The Scheme is under moderately high category and high risk proposition being an equity fund. The product is suitable for investors seeking returns in long term.
iii) Redemption
Minimum redemption amount is Rs 1,000. Redemptions are done at applicable NAVs subject to exit load charged by the Scheme. Under normal circumstances, redemption cheques are dispatched within 10 business days by the Mutual Fund House.
iv) Fund Manager
The Scheme is managed by Mr Anand Radhakrishnan (managing the Scheme since April 2007) and Mr R Janakiraman who is dedicated fund manager for foreign securities (managing the Scheme since February 2011).
v) Entry / Exit load
1% exit load is charged if the units are redeemed within 1 year from the date of allotment of units, no exit load is charged beyond 1 year. No entry load is charged by the Scheme.

Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund was incorporated on 6 October 1995 and started operation on 19 February 1996. The fund house flagged off the mutual fund with the launch of Templeton India Growth Fund in September 1996, and since then the business has grown at a steady pace and is one of the leading fund houses in India.
