The scheme is an open-ended equity scheme investing in maximum 30 stocks with a focus on multi-cap space. The investment objective is to achieve capital appreciation through investing predominantly in Indian companies/sectors with high growth rate or potential.

The Scheme has consistently beaten its benchmark in 3 and 5 year horizon, in the past three-year and five-year, the scheme has given returns of 9.4% and 22.4%, while its benchmark index has given 8.7% and 14.7%.
Fund Information and Statistics of Franklin India Focused Equity Fund
i) Inception / Launch date
The Scheme was earlier known as Franklin India High Growth Companies Fund and was launched on 26 July 2007. The name change was effective from 4 June 2018. The scheme is benchmarked against NIFTY 500 TRI.
ii) Risk level
The scheme is moderately high risk proposition as it invests in a total of only 30 securities and within this top five picks comprise 42% of total AUM. The scheme is quite concentrated and only suitable for investors looking for high capital appreciation over a long term period.
iii) Redemption
The redemption proceeds are generally dispatched to the unitholders within the regulatory time limit of 10 business days of the receipt of valid redemption request. Minimum redemption amount is Rs 1,000.
iv) Fund Manager
Mr Roshi Jain, Mr Anand Radhakrishnan and Mr Srikesh Nair (dedicated for foreign securities) are current fund-managers of the scheme.
v) Entry / Exit load
1% exit load is charged if the units are redeemed within 1 year from the date of allotment of units, no exit load is charged beyond 1 year.
Tax Benefits of investing in Franklin India Focused Equity Fund
The short-term capital gains made on sale of units within 1 year from the date of allotment will be taxed at the rate of 15%. The Long term capital gains , over and above Rs 1 lakh, made on sale of units after 1 year from the date of allotment will be taxable at the rate of 10% (without indexation).
