Being an open-ended equity fund, the scheme focuses to invest in 30 multicap stocks of Nifty 50 index. It looks for businesses with strong earnings growth, high return on capital employed (ROCE), and return on equity (ROE), cash generating capital-light business model and attractive valuation relative to its peers. i) Inception/ Launch date

The IIFL Focused Equity Fund was launched on 30 October 2014, by IIFL Mutual Fund.

ii) Risk level

This scheme is suitable for investors with moderately high risk appetite. The fund is invested in few stocks to build a concentrated portfolio. This approach leads to concentration risk. A sharp fall in any stock may impact the return of the entire portfolio.

iii) Redemption

The dispatch of redemption proceeds occurs within 10 business days from the date of receipt of the redemption request.

iv) Fund Manager

Mr. Prashasta Seth is the fund manager of IIFL Focused Equity Funds since November 2016.

v) Entry / Exit load

The entry load is NIL. The exit load of 4% is applicable if units are redeemed within 3 months from the date of allotment of units.

Tax benefits of investing in IIFL Focused Equity Fund

The Short-term capital gains tax of 15% is levied if sold before one year from the date of allotment. Long-term capital gains, in excess of Rs 1 Lakh, are taxed at 10% without indexation if redeemed after one year. 10% tax will be deducted at source for dividends.
