Mahindra Mutual Fund Badhat Yojana is an open-ended scheme which invests in equity and equity related securities including derivatives. The scheme strives to deliver long-term capital appreciation by balanced investment in stocks across market capitalisation. The maximum asset allocation to debt and money market instrument is 25%.

This ensures diversification of the investments enabling improved returns. 3. However, the fund is relatively new and returns so far have been less than the average category returns.

i) Inception / Launch date
The Mahindra Mutual Fund Badhat Yojana was launched on May 11, 2017, by Mahindra Mutual Funds.
ii) Risk level
Mahindra Mutual Fund Badhat Yojana is a moderately high-risk bet due to exposure in equities. It is suitable for investments with medium to long-term time horizon.
iii) Redemption
The units can be redeemed on any business day based on the NAV prices. Under normal circumstances, your fund house will dispatch the redemption proceeds within 10 business days.
iv) Fund Manager
The fund is managed by Mr Ratish Varier since May 11, 2018. He has previously worked with Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd. and ICAP Pvt Ltd.
v) Entry / Exit load
The fund house does not charge any entry load but charges 1% exit load if investments are redeemed within 1 year from the date of allotment. There is no exit load after one year.
Tax benefits of investing in Mahindra Mutual Fund Badhat Yojana
The Short-term capital gain tax of 15% is applicable if redeemed within one year of purchase, whereas a long-term capital gain, in excess of Rs 1 lakh, are taxed at 10% if sold after one year. Dividend distribution tax is applicable.
