In a country like ours, the MSME sector is relatively significant in the sense that it is second to agriculture in terms of providing employment. The MSME Databank is a comprehensive database of all the MSMEs in India. Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM)

The UAM registration form is a single-page form, the purpose of which is to self-certify the existence of your business entity. The basic details of your business, your bank details, the owner/promoter’s Aadhaar details, and other related details need to be entered in and submitted. There is no fee to be paid for the UAM registration.

Once the form is submitted, an acknowledgement will come to the registered email address via an email, containing the UAN. Udyog Aadhaar Number (UAN) is a unique 12 digit number, an identification number generated by the Ministry of MSME for businesses to register themselves as MSMEs. It is essentially an Aadhaar for Businesses. Having a Udyog Aadhaar number saves businesses from a lot of procedural hassle that they would otherwise have to experience if they were undergoing the MSME registration process.

Eligibility Criteria for MSME Databank

There are two prerequisites to be complied with in order to be eligible for the MSME Databank registration:-

MSME: The Udyam (MSME) Registration Number and the registered mobile number is mandatory.

PAN: 
1. In the case of corporates such as companies and LLPs, the PAN of such company or LLP must be mandatorily entered in the form. 
2. Where it is a non-corporate such as a sole proprietorship, the PAN of the proprietor may be entered in the form. So, any business entity having a PAN card and a Udyog Aadhaar Number or any promoter/person having a PAN Card and an Aadhaar Number is eligible to register their business with the MSME Databank.

Registration Procedure

Log on to the MSME Databank website, click on the “Register” button and select ‘MSME’.

Appreciation/Award Details

Further, details regarding renewable energy usage, imports and exports, technological upgrades, and quality certification are also to be answered. Once all of these details are filled in, tick the declaration boxes, and then submit the application via the “Submit” button.

Once the submission is complete, the applicant will receive an email on his/her registered email id containing the login details as well as a link for the verification of the email address. Once the verification of the email id is complete, the entity will be able to login to the www.msmedatabank.in portal and make the changes to the details of their organisation as they see fit. Registering under the MSME scheme can reap heaps of benefits.
