Edelweiss Government Securities Fund is an open-ended debt scheme that predominantly invests in government securities across different maturity periods. The scheme includes a diversified portfolio with a mix of Central and state government bonds. Investors who wish to invest in India’s fixed income market over an investment horizon of a minimum of three years can invest in the fund.

Pros and Cons of Edelweiss Government Securities Fund

The scheme manages the portfolio duration to dynamically generate returns in proportion. The three-year and five-year returns have been higher than the category average returns. Also, the exit load is zero. However, the assets under management (AUM) is yet to reach the line of Rs.100 crore. You may have to watch the expense ratio when the AUM is less.

i) Inception/Launch Date Edelweiss Government Securities Fund was rolled out on 5 February 2014.

ii) Risk Level Edelweiss Government Securities Fund has a moderate risk profile since it dynamically allocates the funds among sovereign bonds based on relative value.

iii) Redemption A lock-in period is not applicable for investments made to the fund. In addition, exit load for the fund is zero making it less expensive for investors to redeem the units.
