The Rajasthan Government launched the Bhamashah Yojana with the objective of empowerment and financial inclusion of women. This yojana aims at making women of the state financially independent. This yojana is considered as the first step towards digitalisation in the state of Rajasthan.
Under the Bhamashah Yojana, the benefits of financial and non-financial government schemes are transferred to women in an easy, transparent manner. The eligible beneficiaries under the Bhamashah Yojana are provided with end-to-end financial and non-financial benefits and services through their bank accounts.
After opening the bank account, the Bhamashah Yojana card is provided to the beneficiary in 2-3 months. Around 50 lakh women applied for this scheme when it was launched in 2008, and around 29 lakh accounts were opened for providing benefits of various schemes through the Bhamashah Yojana card.
The Bhamashah card is given under this yojana to the eligible applicants in the name of the women. The Bhamashah Yojana card is linked to the bank account of the women beneficiary. Once the Bhamashah card is ready, the applicants will receive an update on their registered mobile number.
All the family members of the women who have a Bhamashah Yojana card can avail of the benefits of this scheme by using the card. It provides core banking functions and biometric identification to women.
Multiple cash benefits are provided under this yojana to the women by directly transferring them to their bank accounts. The eligible students are also issued the Bhamashah card under this scheme for obtaining benefits of scholarships.

The Bhamashah Yojana provides benefits of various other government schemes for women and their families. The beneficiaries having a Bhamashah card receive the benefits provided under various government schemes such as maternity benefits, NREGA, pension, food security (ration), scholarships, loan for entrepreneurs, health card for free medical treatment, etc.
The Bhamashah card also provides medical insurance of Rs.30,000 to Rs.3 lakh to the deprived and poor in case of any medical emergencies. The women will be able to buy ration from the ration shops using the biometric system.
