The Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana is a Punjab Government scheme that provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Popularly known as the Punjab ₹1,000 Scheme or Bhagwant Mann ₹1,000 Rupee Scheme, it is one of Punjab's largest women welfare initiatives.
The proposal for this scheme was formally announced in the Punjab Budget 2026-27. Following cabinet approval and official notification, registration was launched in April 2026.

Note: After the initial arrears payment, eligible beneficiaries will receive the regular monthly benefit of ₹1,000 (General Category) or ₹1,500 (SC Category) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The scheme amount is credited directly to beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligible women cannot register directly through a self-service online portal. The Punjab Government follows an assisted registration model where authorised officials complete the registration process on behalf of applicants.
Step 1: Keep the Aadhaar Card, Punjab Voter ID, Bank Passbook and SC Certificate (if applicable) ready for verification.
Step 2: Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre, Sewa Kendra, Gram Panchayat office, Municipal office, or any designated registration centre.
Step 3: Submit the required documents to the authorised facilitator for eligibility verification.
Step 4: The facilitator will enter the applicant's personal, banking and identification details into the official registration system.
Step 5: Complete identity authentication through Aadhaar OTP or biometric verification, as applicable.
Step 6: Collect the acknowledgement receipt containing the application reference number for future tracking.
Women who are unable to visit registration centres can avail doorstep registration assistance through Mahila Satkar Sakhis.
Step 1: A designated Mahila Satkar Sakhi visits eligible households within her assigned area to identify potential beneficiaries.
Step 2: The Mahila Satkar Sakhi verifies the required documents and assists in completing the registration process.
Step 3: Assistance is provided for Aadhaar seeding and DBT activation if the beneficiary's bank account is not linked correctly.
Step 4: The application is digitised and submitted for verification and approval by the concerned authorities.
After successful verification and approval, beneficiaries are issued a Satkar Card under the scheme. The card serves as proof of beneficiary enrolment and eligibility under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana. Eligible beneficiaries receive the monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 or ₹1,500 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after approval.
Mahila Satkar Sakhis are local women volunteers engaged to assist beneficiaries with registration and awareness activities.
