What is the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana?

The Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana is popularly known as the Punjab ₹1,000 Scheme or Bhagwant Mann ₹1,000 Rupee Scheme/ it is one of Punjab's largest women welfare initiatives. 

  • Under the scheme, eligible women receive ₹1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste (SC) women receive ₹1,500 per month in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
  • Announced in the Punjab Budget 2026-27 and launched on 14 April 2026, the scheme aims to provide financial support to approximately 52 lakh women across the state. 

How Much Money will You Receive?

The first payment under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana will include arrears from 1 April 2026 to 30 June 2026, resulting in a higher one-time credit on 1 July 2026.

Note: After the initial arrears payment, eligible beneficiaries will receive the regular monthly benefit of ₹1,000 (General Category) or ₹1,500 (SC Category) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Who is Eligible for the Punjab Women Scheme 2026?

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a woman.
  • Be 18 years of age or above.
  • Be a resident of Punjab.
  • Possess a valid Aadhaar card.
  • Possess a valid Punjab Voter ID.
  • Have an active Aadhaar-linked bank account.
  • Complete beneficiary verification.

I. Additional Clarifications

  • Women receiving widow pension, old-age pension, disability pension or similar social security pensions can also apply.
  • Multiple eligible women from the same family can receive benefits.
  • SC women can initially register without a caste certificate and later submit it to receive enhanced benefits.

II. Who is Not Eligible?

The following women are not eligible:

  • Current government employees.
  • Retired government employees drawing government pensions.
  • Employees or retirees of PSUs and statutory boards.
  • Current or former MPs.
  • Current or former MLAs.
  • Spouses of serving ministers, MPs or MLAs.
  • Income tax payers.

What is a Mahila Satkar Sakhi?

Mahila Satkar Sakhis are local women volunteers engaged to assist beneficiaries with registration and awareness activities.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with registration.
  • Helping women arrange documents.
  • Supporting Aadhaar-bank account linking.
  • Providing doorstep assistance in villages and urban wards.

What is a Satkar Card?

After successful verification and approval, beneficiaries are issued a Satkar Card under the scheme. The card serves as proof of beneficiary enrolment and eligibility under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana. 

Their services are provided free of cost.

How to Register for Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana?

Eligible women cannot register directly through a self-service online portal. The Punjab Government follows an assisted registration model where authorised officials complete the registration process on behalf of applicants.

I. Through Anganwadi Centres and Sewa Kendras

The following steps are the steps to register for Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana through Anganwadi Centres and Sewa Kendras:

Step 1: Keep the Aadhaar Card, Punjab Voter ID, Bank Passbook and SC Certificate (if applicable) ready for verification.

Step 2: Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre, Sewa Kendra, Gram Panchayat office, Municipal office, or any designated registration centre.

Step 3: Submit the required documents to the authorised facilitator for eligibility verification.

Step 4: The facilitator will enter the applicant's personal, banking and identification details into the official registration system.

Step 5: Complete identity authentication through Aadhaar OTP or biometric verification, as applicable.

Step 6: Collect the acknowledgement receipt containing the application reference number for future tracking.

II. Through Mahila Satkar Sakhis

Women who are unable to visit registration centres can avail doorstep registration assistance through Mahila Satkar Sakhis.

Step 1: A designated Mahila Satkar Sakhi visits eligible households within her assigned area to identify potential beneficiaries.

Step 2: The Mahila Satkar Sakhi verifies the required documents and assists in completing the registration process.

Step 3: Assistance is provided for Aadhaar seeding and DBT activation if the beneficiary's bank account is not linked correctly.

Step 4: The application is digitised and submitted for verification and approval by the concerned authorities.

Applicants can track the status of their Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana application through SMS alerts, authorised facilitators, or designated registration centres.

I. Through SMS Alerts

The following are the steps to check Punjab Women Scheme application status through SMS alerts:

Step 1: Complete the registration process through an Anganwadi Centre, Sewa Kendra, or Mahila Satkar Sakhi.

Step 2: Keep the registered mobile number active to receive scheme-related updates.

Step 3: Receive SMS alerts regarding application submission, verification status, beneficiary approval, and Satkar Card issuance.

II. Through Anganwadi Centres, Sewa Kendras or Mahila Satkar Sakhis

The following are the steps to check Punjab Women Scheme application status through Anganwadi Centres, Sewa Kendras or Mahila Satkar Sakhis:

Step 1: Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre, Sewa Kendra, or contact the local Mahila Satkar Sakhi.

III. Through PFMS Payment Tracking

Beneficiaries can also verify whether the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payment has been credited to their bank account by following the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the PFMS portal.

Step 2: Open the 'Know Your Payments' section.

Step 3: Enter the required bank account details.

Step 4: View the payment status and DBT transaction details.

What if the Application is Rejected?

Applications may be flagged due to document mismatches, incorrect personal details, or verification issues. In such cases, applicants can contact their Mahila Satkar Sakhi or the nearest registration centre to update the information and complete the verification process.
