Tata India Consumer Fund as the name suggests, invests in equity and equity related securities of consumer-oriented companies. The major sectors include automobiles, textiles, consumer durables & FMCG, and media & entertainment. The scheme will invest at least 80% of the assets in the aforementioned instruments and the rest could be invested in debt & money market instruments.

i) Inception / Launch date
The Tata India Consumer Fund was launched in December 04, 2015 by Tata Mutual Funds.
ii) Risk level
Tata India Consumer Fund is a high-risk bet and suitable only for investors comfortable with investing in a theme-oriented scheme.
iii) Redemption
The units can be redeemed on any business day based on the NAV prices. Under normal circumstances, your fund house will dispatch the redemption proceeds within 10 business days.
iv) Fund Manager
The Tata India Consumer Fund is jointly managed by Sonam Udasi since April 2016 and Ennette Fernandes since June 2018.
v) Entry / Exit load
The fund house does not charge any entry load or exit load if redeemed after 18 months from the date of allotment. However, an exit load of 1% is charged if redeemed within 18 months.
Tax benefits of investing in Tata India Consumer Fund
The Short-term capital gains tax of 15% is levied if sold before one year from the date of allotment. Long-term capital gains, in excess of Rs 1 Lakh, will be taxed at 10% without indexation if redeemed after one year.
