Mahtari Vandan Yojana in Chhattisgarh: Eligibility, How To Apply, Status Check Link, Benefits

The State Government of Chhattisgarh has announced a special scheme for women of this state, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, to improve their living standards. Mahtari Vandan Yojana aims to provide financial assistance to the women of Chhattisgarh upon meeting certain criteria. What is Mahtari Vandan Yojana?

The Chhattisgarh Government announced the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in Chhattisgarh to empower the women of this state. Under this scheme, married, widowed, and economically backward women will receive a monthly aid of Rs.1,000 every month. This scheme has been implemented since 1 March 2024.  

Benefits of Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Eligible women applicants can avail the following benefits from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana scheme:

  • Eligible married women will receive Rs.1,000 every month.
  • This initiative of this scheme is to support women financially. With the Rs.1000 per month, women can learn new skills or invest in small businesses.
  • Most women neglect their health issues as they are not self-dependent. With an assurance of receiving a fixed amount per month, women can improve their health through proper medical aid.
  • A fixed monthly support will help women improve their living conditions and enhance their standard of living.

Mahtari Vandan Yojana Eligibility Criteria in Chhattisgarh

Candidates need to meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for Mahtari Vandan Yojana:

  • Only married women who are residents of Chhattisgarh can apply for this scheme.
  • Married women must be above 21 years.
  • Married women include widows, divorcees, and women abandoned by husbands. 

The following candidates are not eligible to apply for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana:

  • Married women whose family member is an income taxpayer.
  • Married women whose family member is a first-class, second-class or third-class officer or employee working on permanent, temporary or contractual posts in any government department, undertaking, division or local body government of India or State Government.
  • Married women whose family member is a current or former MP or MLA.
  • Married women whose family member is the present and former chairman and vice-chairman of the board or corporation of the Indian Government or the State Government.

How to Apply for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana?

You can apply for Mahtari Vandan Yojana by following the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the Mahtari Vandan Yojana website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Application’ tab.

Step 3: Enter the required information, attach the documents and submit the form. 

You can also apply for this scheme offline by following the below steps: 

Step 1: Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat, Anganwadi centre, or ward office. 

Step 2: Collect the Mahtari Vandan Yojana application form.

Step 3: Fill out the form with relevant details and self-attest the documents.

Step 4: Submit the application form and documents to the Gram Panchayat, Anganwadi centre, or ward office and collect the submission slip for future reference.

Note: The last date for submitting the application was 20 February 2024. Thus, the ‘Application’ tab is not working currently on the website. The government is processing the applicants who applied in the first phase. However, eligible beneficiaries can apply in the next phase.

Documents Required for Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Applicants need to submit the following documents while applying for Mahtari Vandan Yojana:

  • Proof of date of birth
  • Certificate of residence issued by the competent authority
  • Ration card
  • Aadhaar card
  • Marriage certificate or marriage proof
  • PAN card and Aadhaar card of the husband
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook
  • Husband’s death certificate, in case of a widow
  • Divorce certificate, in case of a divorcee
  • Passport size photographs

Mahtari Vandan Yojana Scheme Status Check

Applicants of Mahtari Vandan Yojana can follow the steps below to check the status of their application:

Step 1: Visit the Mahtari Vandan Yojana website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Application Status’ tab.

Step 3: Enter your mobile number or Aadhaar number, captcha code and click ‘Submit’.

Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana helps women be financially independent by providing them Rs.1,000 every month. Any eligible married woman can easily apply for it online or by visiting the nearest ward office, Gram Panchayat, or Anganwadi Centre.
