What is Digital Voter ID Card?

A Digital Voter ID Card, also known as e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card), is a portable digital version of the physical voter ID card introduced in 2021. It can be downloaded in PDF format and stored on Digilocker or mobile devices for easy access.

The e-EPIC includes a secure QR code containing demographic details and photograph, making it tamper-proof and reliable for identification purposes.

Who is Eligible for a Digital Voter ID Card?

You can download a digital voter ID card if:

• You are a registered voter in India
• You have a valid EPIC number
• Your mobile number is linked with the voter database
• New voters registered through Form 6 are also eligible

How to Apply for Digital Voter ID Card Online?

Follow these steps to apply for a new digital Voter ID and get access to e-EPIC:

Step 1: Log in or sign up on the National Voters Services Portal (NVSP).

Step 2: Click the ‘Fill Form 6’ button under the ‘New Voter Registration’ tab.

Step 3: Fill out the entire application form with the correct details. Upload the required documents.

Step 4: Click on ‘Preview’ and submit once done.

How to Check Digital Voter ID Card Status?

Applicants can check the status of their digital Voter ID card online through the National Voters Services Portal (NVSP) by logging into their account and entering the application reference number. The portal displays the current status of your application. Applicants can also receive updates by calling the voter helpline number 1950.

How to Download a Digital Voter ID?

Here are the steps to download a digital Voter ID card:

Step 1: Log into the NVSP.  

Step 2: Click on the ‘E-EPIC Download’ tab available on the homepage.

Step 3: Select the ‘EPIC No.’ or ‘Form Reference no.’.

Step 4: Enter the EPIC number or the form reference number you received at the time of filling out the form.

Step 5: Select the state and click on the ‘Search’ button. 

Step 6: The Voter ID details will be displayed on the screen. Click on the ‘Send OTP’ button. However, please note that your mobile number must be updated on the portal to receive the OTP. You can update your mobile number by filling ‘Form 8’ on the NVSP website.

Step 7: Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and click on the ‘Verify’ button. 

Step 8: Once the OTP is verified, click on the ‘Download e-EPIC’ button.
