Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia is optimistic that the transition to the new tax regime will be smoother in India, as compared to other countries. This is because India has multiple points of taxation, which reduces the possibility of sudden inflation. Speaking at a conference in Gujarat, Mr. Adhia also expressed his opinion on the possibility of GST increasing the competitiveness of domestic companies.
Since GST will create a level playing field for all companies, the domestic manufacturers should get a boost after the implementation of the new tax regime.
