What is Ladli Behna Yojana?

Ladli Behna Yojana is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Madhya Pradesh Government on 28 January 2023 to uplift married women and promote economic self-reliance. It provides direct monthly cash transfers to women aged 21–60 years belonging to families earning less than Rs. 2.5 lakh annually.

The scheme aims to support women’s education, nutrition, and self-employment while improving their role in household decision-making.

Current Status (2026)

The Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana continues to provide ₹1,500 per month to eligible women in Madhya Pradesh through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). As of 2026, the scheme has completed multiple monthly instalment cycles benefiting over 1.29 crore women across the state.

The Madhya Pradesh Government has also announced a subsidised cattle distribution initiative for eligible Ladli Behna beneficiaries to promote self-employment and strengthen rural livelihoods.

History of Ladli Behna Scheme

In Madhya Pradesh, women’s labour participation is less than that of men in the state. 

  • In rural areas, only 23.3% of females participate in the labour force, compared to 57.7% of males. 
  • Similarly, in urban areas, only 13.6% of women participate in the labour force, against 55.9% of men. 

Considering the above scenario, the Madhya Pradesh Government launched the Ladli Behna Scheme or Ladli Behna Yojana to continuously improve the health and economic independence of women in the state, the nutritional level of their dependent children, and their decisive role in the family.

Objectives of Ladli Behna Yojana

One of the primary objectives of the Ladli Behna Yojana is to promote the financial well-being of the married women of Madhya Pradesh. Here are the other objectives of the Ladli Behna Yojana:

  • To maintain sustainable improvement in the self-reliance of women 
  • To maintain health and nutritional status of women's dependent children
  • To make women more financially independent
  • To encourage women's effective role in decision making at the family level

Ladli Behna Yojana Eligibility

The eligibility of the Ladli Behna Yojanais is as follows:

  • Only women beneficiaries residing in Madhya Pradesh are eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • Women beneficiaries must be married, which also includes widows, divorced and women abandoned by husbands.
  • The age of the women should be between 21 to 60 years.
  • The family income of women must be below 2.5 lakhs per annum.

The following are ineligible to apply for this scheme:

  • The woman or any family member is employed as a regular or permanent employee or contractual employee in any government department, division, undertaking, or local body of the Government of India or State Government or is receiving a pension after retirement.
  • The woman or any member of her family is a taxpayer.
  • The woman’s family member owns a four-wheeler vehicle except a tractor. 

Ladli Behna Yojana Age Limit

Only married women residing in Madhya Pradesh aged between 21 and 60 are eligible to apply for the Ladli Behna Yojana of Madhya Pradesh. The women must be 21 years old on 1 January of the application year.

Benefits of Ladli Behna Yojana

The scheme aims to improve the financial security and overall well-being of eligible women in Madhya Pradesh. Key benefits include:

  • Monthly financial assistance: Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 every month through DBT.

Ladli Behna Yojana Amount

According to the Ladli Behna Yojana, all the women beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh shall receive Rs. 1,500 every month. The amount will be credited to their bank accounts on the 10th of every month, ensuring a safe and secured fund transfer.

Ladli Behna Yojana Last Date

The Ladli Behna Yojana last date for registration was 20 August 2023, marking the closure of the initial application phase that began on 25 July 2023. As of October 2025, no new registrations are open, and only the previously approved beneficiaries continue to receive monthly payments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 

As of 2026, fresh registrations have not been announced. Eligible applicants should regularly check the official Ladli Behna Yojana portal for future registration notifications.

Ladli Behna Yojana Form

Eligible beneficiaries can get the Ladli Behna Yojana Form from the nearest Gram Panchayat, Ward Office, or Campsite. However, before obtaining the form, the married woman must have completed the Aadhaar e-KYC on the Samagra portal through OTP or biometric and have a bank account in her name linked with her Aadhaar card.

How to Fill Ladli Form?

Follow the below steps to fill out and submit the Ladli Behna Yojana Form:

Step 1: Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat, Ward Office or Campsite.

Step 2: Ask for a Ladli Behna Yojana application form.

Step 3: Fill out the application form carefully, providing the required information in their designated places.

Step 4: Attach the essential documents with the form.

Step 5: Once done, submit the duly filled application form to the nearest Gram Panchayat, Ward Office or Campsite.

After you submit the application form, you will get an application number. You can use this number to track your application status. Once your application is processed, you can check your name on the beneficiary list.

Documents Required for Ladli Behna Yojana

The documents required to be attached with the Ladli Behna Yojana form are as follows:

  • Copies of the DBT account number 
  • Aadhaar card 
  • Family ID or member ID issued by the Samagra Portal 
  • Marriage certificate

e-KYC for Ladli Behna Yojana

Completing Samagra e-KYC and linking the Aadhaar number with a DBT-enabled bank account is mandatory for receiving monthly instalments.

Step 1: Visit the Samagra website. 

Step 2: Click on the ‘Do e-KYC’ option under the ‘Update Overall Profile’ heading on the homepage.

Step 3: Enter your Samagra ID, captcha code and click ‘Search’.

Step 4: Next, enter your mobile number linked to Aadhaar number.

Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your mobile number. 

Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar card number and OTP received to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

Step 7: Upload the address and date of birth proof documents and click ‘Submit’. The e-KYC process will be completed.

You can also complete your e-KYC by visiting the nearest ration shop, CSC Kiosk or MP Online Center.

Ladli Behna Yojana Application Status Check

Once you receive your application number, you can track the status of your application by following a few steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Application and Payment Status’ option.

Step 3: Enter your registration or application number and captcha code and click ‘Send OTP’. 

Step 4: You will then receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the designated place and click the ‘Search’ option.

You will be able to see the status of your application or the number of payments that have been disbursed to your bank account. You can also check the application status by visiting the nearest Gram Panchayat, Ward Office or Campsite.

Ladli Behna Yojana List

When your application is processed and you are eligible to receive the benefits of Ladli Behna Yojana, your name will be added to the beneficiary list. Women whose names appear in the beneficiary list receive ₹1,500 per month under the scheme.. Thus, it is important to check the beneficiary list. Below are the steps to check your name on the Ladli Behna Yojana list:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Final List’ option.

Step 3: Enter your mobile number and captcha code and click ‘Send OTP’.

Step 4: You will then receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the designated place and click the ‘Search’ option. The beneficiary list will be displayed on the screen.

The Ladli Behna Yojana 2025 represents a major stride in women’s welfare by offering Rs. 1,500 monthly assistance to over 1.26 crore women in Madhya Pradesh.
