About Telephone Cables Ltd

Promoted by the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation and the Brar family in the joint sector, Telephone Cables went public in Apr. '88. This issue of equity shares at par part-financed its project to manufacture 6. 25 lac ckm of polyethylene insulated jelly-filled telecommunication (PIJFT) cables in technical collaboration with United Technologies, US (Essex Division). The company holds an industrial licence to manufacture upto 10 lac ckm of PIJFT cables. It came out with a rights issue in Jul. '89. The company has concluded a Technical Collaboration Agreement with Hitachi Cables Ltd.
