Vadilal Dairy International (formerly known as Super Milk Makers) was incorporated as a private limited company in Jul. '87 and was converted into a public limited company in May '93. Promoted by the House of Vadilal, the company commenced commercial production of icecreams in 1988 by setting up manufacturing facilities at Tarapur with an installed capacity of 5760 k ltr. In 1994, the company diversified to manufacture milk, butter, cheese, ghee, malted milk food, infant milk food, skim milk powder and casein. It set up an integrated diary at Sinnar, Maharashtra, which was financed by a public issue in Jun. '94. The dairy products are marketed under the Dairi-Rich brand name. It has also entered into an agreement with Ault Foods, Canada, to assist the company with technical know-how for the manufacture of various types of butter and cheese.
