Kerala leads the way in businesses migrating to GST

As per the latest records, Kerala has marched ahead of all other Indian states with almost 10% of the businesses already migrated to the new tax regime. The all-India average for migration stands at about 3% right now.

The data shows that 10% of the assesses have finished the migration process while 14% have activated their account and are in the process of changing over to the new system.

For services, the all-India average is 6% while in Kerala, about 42% of the sector has activated a GST account and 14% have completed the migration process.

Apart from this, the state government in Kerala has already announced its intention to complete the assessments and reassessments under VAT as soon as possible and even declared amnesty schemes for the same.
