Whenever there are any schemes offered by the government or organisations, it's pretty obvious that many people will have a few or more grievances towards those schemes. EPF or Employees’ Provident Fund is one such scheme which is one of the largest schemes of investment for employees.
The Employees’ Provident Fund or EPF scheme in India has more than 4 crore subscribers, so it should come as no surprise that some of these subscribers have certain grievances towards this scheme. Therefore, to consider these grievances, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievance Management System through which the complaints or grievances of the subscribers of EPF are addressed.
What is EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievance Management System?
EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievances Management System is a portal customised by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to address the complaints and grievances of the customers of EPF scheme.
These complaints can be registered by all the official members of the EPF scheme, pensioners and employers. After the complaint has been registered, the subscriber is given a unique registration number which is used to check the status of the complaint.
By using the EPFiGMS system, the subscribers can lodge complaints related to the following categories: - Withdrawal of PF - Transfer of PF - Settlement of pension - Issue of EPF balance - Payment of Insurance benefit
The complainants need to visit the EPFiGMS platform and register their complaint by providing relevant details.
Functions of EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievance Management System
EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievance Management System provides a platform for all EPF subscribers to register their grievances or complaints regarding the Employees’ Provident Fund or EPF scheme. EPFiGMS performs many important functions including the following:
- The most important function of the EPFiGMS or EPF i Grievance Management System portal is to provide a common platform for all registered members of the EPF system to register their complaints regarding the scheme.
- After the complaints have been registered by the customer, the EPFiGMS collects these complaints or grievances and categorises them to identify the areas with most grievances.
- These grievances are then forwarded to the concerned departments where these grievances are evaluated and their efficiency is determined for further redressal.
- The EPFiGMS portal allows all customers to put forward their issues regarding the EPF scheme. It also helps to identify whether the organisations are maintaining transparency for its consumers’ benefits.
