BC 1 Lakh Scheme in Telangana: Eligibility, Last Date, Documents Required, How To Apply Online, Benefits

The BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Telangana, Gangula Kamalakar, launched an online application portal for the newly proposed BC 1 Lakh Scheme on 6 June 2023. This scheme provides financial assistance of Rs.1 lakh to persons belonging to the Backward Classes (BC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) pursuing caste-based jobs. 

Gangula Kamalakar stated that BC and OBC persons working in caste-based jobs would get financial assistance to get the necessary equipment, tools and raw materials. This scheme will be launched concurrently by MLAs, ministers and others in their respective assembly seats. 

BC 1 Lakh Scheme in Telangana

Under the BC 1 Lakh Scheme, individuals looking for financial assistance to excel in their profession can apply for this scheme at - https://tsobmmsbc.cgg.gov.in. Individuals can use the monetary help received under this scheme to purchase materials and tools for craft-related handicrafts and professions.

This scheme was launched following the recent announcement made by the State Cabinet, outlining the programme’s framework for BCs and OBCs. Subsequently, the State Cabinet sub-committee chaired by Kamalakar finalised the guidelines for this scheme and launched the online application form, marking an important step towards its implementation.

The government has announced that this scheme will be implemented in phases, and the precise number of beneficiaries is yet to be disclosed. However, the initial phase may include approximately 50,000 beneficiaries.

• Individuals should be residents of Telangana falling under the BC 1 category.
• Individuals should be aged between 18-55 years. 
• They should have an annual income below Rs.1.5 lakhs when residing in villages or Rs.2 lakhs when residing in towns.
• Individuals who have already received Rs.50,000 or more from other government welfare schemes in the previous five years are not eligible under this scheme.
• This scheme benefit is given to only one person in a family.

BC 1 Lakh Scheme benefits

The Telangana Government will provide financial support of Rs.1 lakh to people working in caste professions and handicrafts to buy goods and equipment they need to excel in their chosen profession. 

BC 1 Lakh Scheme apply online

• Visit the official website.
• Click the ‘Application Form for Financial Assistance for BC Vocational Communities Registration Form’ link.
• Fill out the application form with details such as address details, applicant details and sector details.
• Upload the photo, tick the self-declaration form and click the ‘Preview’ button. 
• After reviewing the application, click the ‘Submit’ button.
• Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) will examine the application at Mandal levels, and the Municipal Commissioners will examine applications in municipalities from the 20 to 26 June. A committee headed by the District Collector will make the final selection of beneficiaries at the district level.
• The beneficiary selection will be carried out in a phased manner, and the relevant information will be given on the website on a Mandal-wise and village-wise basis.
• Special officers will also check the performance of beneficiaries every quarter for two years.
