Gruhalakshmi Scheme Telangana: Eligibility, Registration, How To Apply Online, Benefits

The Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, introduced the Gruhalakshmi Scheme Telangana. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the head woman of the house to help them build their homes. Under this scheme, the government will give an amount to the head women of the family belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) and weaker sections of society who cannot build their own homes due to financial crises.

Under the Gruhalakshmi Scheme Telangana, the government of Telangana will offer financial help of Rs. 3 lakh to women belonging to weaker sections of society in three installments to build their homes. It will transfer the financial assistance directly to the beneficiaries bank account via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT). 

Under this scheme, Rs 12,000 crore will be used to build four lakh homes in Telangana, and Rs 412 crore has been approved for constructing 10,00,000 homes in Telangana. Over 1,193 dwellings have been approved in all constituencies, and 43,000 additional homes have been approved under the state quota.

Each beneficiary will get a one-time payment under this scheme to build a home of their design. The houses under this scheme will have a government-approved Gruhalahakshmi logo. The Collectors are the nodal officers for implementing this scheme in the districts. In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, the Commissioners are the nodal officer for Gruhalakhsmi Scheme.

Gruhalakshmi scheme eligibility

• The applicants must be permanent residents of Telangana.
• Only the women of the family can apply for this scheme.
• Applicants must belong to the Dalit, SC, ST, BC or minority community.
• Applicants must have a food security card.
• Applicants must own land to construct homes. 
• Applicants with a house with an RCC roof cannot apply for this scheme.

How to apply for the Gruhalakshmi scheme?

The government will implement the Gruhalakshmi Scheme Telangana from 24 June 2023. The government will soon launch the official website for this scheme and the registration process. After the official website is released, the Gruhalakshmi Scheme application online process will be as follows:

• Visit the official website of Gruhalakshmi Scheme Telangana.
• Click the ‘Gruhalakshmi Scheme apply online’ link.
• The application form will open. Fill out the form with all the required details.
• Upload the necessary documents and submit the form.

Gruhalakshmi scheme application form

The Government of Telangana is yet to release the Gruhalakshmi Scheme application form. To implement the scheme, it will also develop a separate Gruhalakshmi portal and mobile application. Once the form is released, the eligible applicants can fill it out and submit it. The process of approval of the application form will be as follows:

• The District Collector will receive all the applications and scrutinise them for eligibility.
• After scrutinisation, the District Collector will finalise the list of eligible applicants.
• The government, i.e. District In-charge Minister, will sanction money for the houses in a phased manner.
• The balance of eligible applicants to whom the money is not sanctioned in the first phase will be declared Permanent Wait List (PWL) for that village or ward and will be considered in future sanctions.
• The Managing Director of TSHCL will monitor this scheme at the state level and report to the government.
• The photos with date and time stamps should be uploaded with the geographical coordinates at the three stages of the houses, i.e. basement stage, roof laid stage and completion level.

Gruhalakshmi scheme benefits

The Government of Telangana will give Rs.3 lakh financial assistance to eligible women in three phases or installments. It will provide Rs.1 lakh at the basement level, Rs.1 lakh at the roof stage of the house and Rs.1 lakh after the construction is completed. It will grant the Gruhalakshmi Scheme benefits in the name of the woman beneficiary. 

The beneficiary can build a house in the design of her choice. However, the money can be used to construct only two-bedroom RCC houses under this scheme. The beneficiary should open a separate bank account in her name to receive the amount, and the Jandhan account will not be utilised for this purpose due to transaction limits.
