Changing your mobile number linked with your Aadhaar is essential when you are no longer using your old mobile number. Currently, the UIDAI does not provide the online facility for Aadhaar card mobile number change. Thus, you can update your mobile linked with your Aadhaar card only by visiting the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar Card?

Here is the process to change/ update/ add your mobile number in Aadhaar Card:

Step 1: Go to your nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar update or correction form. You can also download the Aadhaar update or correction form, fill it out and visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Enrolment Centre.

Step 3: Authenticate your details by Biometrics verification at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Enrolment Centre. 

Step 4: Submit the Aadhaar update or correction form to the respective Aadhaar executive along with a service charge of Rs.50. 

You will receive an acknowledgement slip containing the Update Request Number (URN). You can use it to check the status of your update request. Within 30 days, your mobile number will be updated in the Aadhaar database. 

How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar Card Online?

The facility to change or update the mobile number in Aadhaar online has been discontinued. You must visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to update your mobile number. However, you may follow the below steps to book an appointment online with the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to update the mobile number in your Aadhaar card:

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website.

Step 2: Navigate to ‘My Aadhaar’ and select the ‘Book an Appointment’ option under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section.

Step 3: Select your city/location and click on ‘Proceed to Book Appointment’.

Step 4: Enter your mobile number and captcha code and click on ‘Get OTP’.

Step 5: Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify OTP’.

Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar number and name and tick the mobile number option. Then, enter your new mobile number and verify it. 

Step 7: Enter the appointment details and proceed. You can make the payment for updating your mobile number online or at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You will receive an acknowledgement slip containing the appointment details.

Step 8: Visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the time of your appointment and complete your Biometrics verification.

The Aadhaar Seva Kendra officials will give you an acknowledgement slip containing the Update Request Number (URN).

How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar Card Without OTP?

You can change your mobile number in your Aadhaar card without OTP by following the below steps:

Step 1: Go to your nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar update or correction form at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. 

Step 3: Authenticate your details by Biometrics verification at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. 

Step 4: Submit this form to the respective Aadhaar executive along with a service charge of Rs.50.

The officials will give you an acknowledgement slip containing the Update Request Number (URN) through which you can check the status of your mobile number update request.
