It is necessary to link or update your mobile number with the UIDAI to use online Aadhaar facilities and services where you receive OTPs on your Aadhaar registered mobile number. If your old mobile number is no longer active or you need to update the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card, you can easily do so.
Please note that the facility to update the mobile number in Aadhaar online is no longer available as it has been discontinued by UIDAI. You can now only change your mobile number in Aadhaar offline.
Here is the process to change/ update/ add your mobile number in Aadhaar Card:
Step 1: Go to your nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar update or correction form at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You can also download the Aadhaar update or correction form, fill it out and visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Step 3: Authenticate your details by Biometrics verification at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Step 4: Submit this form to the respective Aadhaar executive along with a service charge of Rs 50.
You will receive an acknowledgement slip containing the Update Request Number (URN). You can use it to check the status of your update request. Within 90 days, your mobile number will be updated in your Aadhaar database.
The facility to change or update the mobile number in Aadhaar online has been discontinued. You must visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to update your mobile number.
However, you may follow the below steps to book an appointment online with the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to update the mobile number in your Aadhaar card:
Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website.
Step 2: Navigate to ‘My Aadhaar’ and select the ‘Book an Appointment’ option under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section.
Step 3: Select your city/location and click on ‘Proceed to Book Appointment’.
Step 4: Enter your mobile number and captcha code and click on ‘Get OTP’.
Step 5: Enter the OTP and click ‘Verify OTP’.
Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar number and name and tick the mobile number option. Then, enter your new mobile number and verify it.
Step 7: Enter the appointment details and proceed. You can make the payment for updating your mobile number online or at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You will receive an acknowledgement slip containing the appointment details.
Step 8: Visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the time of your appointment and complete your Biometrics verification.
The Aadhaar Seva Kendra officials will give you an acknowledgement slip containing the Update Request Number (URN).
You can change your mobile number in your Aadhaar card without OTP by following the below steps:
