| Woman whose name changed after marriage | Pre-marriage DOB proof plus acceptable evidence of name change |
If you have already used the one permitted Aadhaar date of birth update, the UIDAI system will generally reject another standard request. In exceptional cases, you can request a correction through UIDAI's Exception Handling Process.
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra and submit a fresh date of birth update request with the required supporting documents.
Step 2: The operator will process the request through the UIDAI system.
Step 3: If the system rejects the request due to the date of birth update limit being exhausted, collect the acknowledgement or rejection details.
Step 4: Raise an exception request by contacting UIDAI through help@uidai.gov.in or the toll-free helpline 1947. Attach the rejection details, Enrolment ID (EID) or Update Request Number (URN), valid Proof of Date of Birth documents, and a justification for the correction.
Step 5: The UIDAI Regional Office will examine your request and supporting documents.
Step 6: If the request is approved under the Exception Handling Process, UIDAI will permit the second date of birth update.
If you have already exhausted the one-time Aadhaar date of birth update limit, another update cannot be completed through the normal process. You must seek approval under UIDAI's Exception Handling Process.
