What is the Minimum Wages in Chhattisgarh?
The Chhattisgarh Government has set up Minimum Wage Rules to enforce the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, and ensure scheduled employment in the state follows these guidelines. The rules specify that employers must pay minimum wages in Chhattisgarh and uphold fair working conditions.
Under the minimum wage rules of Chattisgarh, the state has been divided into three zones, which are as follows:
- Zone A - It covers the Municipal Corporation of Durg, Raipur, Bhilai, Bhilai-Charoda, Birgaon and areas within a 16 km radius of the Municipal Corporation limits. It also covers all industrial areas and industrial development centres. It includes factories with 300 or more workers.
- Zone B - It includes the Municipal Corporation of Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Ambikapur, Chirmiri, Jagdalpur, Dhamtari, and areas within 8 km radius of the Municipal Corporation limits.
- Zone C - It covers all remaining areas outside Zones A and B.
