The 18th General Election, also known as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, will take place in Uttar Pradesh (UP) over seven phases, from April 19 to June 1. If you're a resident of UP, it's important to know if you're eligible to participate in the election. The dates for each phase are as follows: April 1, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. 

To ensure your eligibility, you can refer to the Uttar Pradesh Voter List. This guide provides detailed instructions on verifying your name on the list, applying for a Voter ID, obtaining your Voter ID card, and other crucial election-related information. It's a comprehensive resource that can help you easily navigate the election process.

How to check Name in Uttar Pradesh Voter List

Follow these steps to locate your name in the voter list:

  • Access the ECI Website

Navigate to the homepage of the Election Commission of India (ECI) website.

  • Use the Elector Menu

On the homepage, locate and select the "Elector menu" tab.

  • Find Your Name

Within the Elector menu, select "Search your name in the electoral roll."

  • Enter Your Information

To locate your name in the electoral roll, enter your EPIC number or Voter ID in the appropriate fields.

  • Alternative Search Options

If you do not have your EPIC number or Voter ID, you can alternatively use your registered phone number, date of birth, district, assembly area, or details of a relative to conduct the search.

Procedure to View Name in PDF Electoral Roll

  1. Visit the website of Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh.
  2. Click on “Voter Services”. 
  3. Now navigate to “Search Your Name in Electoral Roll”
  4. Use your EPIC number or Voter ID to search for your name in the list.
  5. Even without an EPIC number, you can even search your name in the list by using other options like your phone number or personal details.
  6. You can use other details such as your date of birth, the district you're in, your assembly area, and details about a relative to find your name on the voter list.

How to Apply for Uttar Pradesh Voter ID Card Online?

  • Step 1: Visit the National Voters' Services Portal (NVSP).
  • Step 2: Click on the 'Sign-Up' option at the top right corner of the homepage.
  • Step 3: Enter your mobile number, email ID, and captcha code, then click 'Continue'.
  • Step 4: Provide your 'First Name', 'Last Name', create a 'Password', and 'Confirm Password', then click the 'Request OTP' button.
  • Step 5: Type in the OTP sent to your mobile number and email ID, then click 'Verify'.
  • Step 6: To access the Voters' Services portal, click 'Login', enter your mobile number, password, and captcha, then select 'Request OTP'.
  • Step 7: Input the OTP received on your mobile and click the 'Verify & Login' button.
  • Step 8: Select the 'Fill Form 6' button found under the 'New registration for general electors' tab.
  • Step 9: Fill out all required sections in Form 6, including personal details, relatives' details, contact information, Aadhaar number, date of birth, address, and declaration. Attach necessary documents in the indicated sections and click the 'Preview and Submit' button.
  • Step 10: Confirm the accuracy of all details and click 'Submit'.

How to Apply for Voter ID Card in Uttar Pradesh Offline? 

  • Find the nearest Electoral Office and get a Form 6.
  • Fill out the Form 6, attach all the necessary documents with the form and submit them at the Electoral Office.
  • A Booth Level will visit your house for the verification.
  • After confirmation, the office will send your Voter ID card to your registered address via mail.

Documents required for Voter ID card

  • One recent passport-size photograph.
  • Aadhaar card
  • Photo-copies of Proof of Date of Birth document. The following documents can be submitted for Proof of Date of Birth:
    • Birth certificate issued by the competent Municipal authority, local body or Registrar of Births and Deaths  
    • Aadhaar card
    • PAN card 
    • Driving license 
    • Certificates of Class X or Class XII issued by the CBSE, ICSE or State education boards
    • Indian Passport
  • Photo-copies of Proof of Address document. The following documents can be submitted for Proof of Address:
    • Water, electricity or gas connection bill not older than one year 
    • Current passbook of Nationalised bank, Scheduled bank or post office 
    • Revenue Department’s Land Owning records, including Kisan Bahi 
    • Registered rent or lease deed (In case of tenant) 
    • Registered sale deed (In case of own house) 
    • Passport

Eligibility to apply for Voter ID card

  • Indian citizens who are 18 years of age as of the qualifying date, which is January 1st of the year when the electoral roll is updated, are eligible.
  • The individual must also be a regular resident of the constituency.

How to Check Voter ID Status in Uttar Pradesh? 

Follow these steps to track your voter registration status:

  • Go to the official National Voter Services' Portal.
  • Click on the 'Login' button.
  • Provide your mobile number, password, and captcha code, then click on the 'Request OTP' button.
  • Enter the received OTP and click on the 'Verify and Login' button.
  • Select the 'Track Application Status' tab.
  • Enter the reference number from the acknowledgement slip, choose Uttar Pradesh as the State, and click on the 'Submit' button.
  • The screen will display your voter registration status.

The reference ID can be located on the acknowledgment slip provided to you upon submission of your voter registration application.

How to Download the Uttar Pradesh Voter ID Card Online? 

  • Step 1: Visit the official National Voter Services’ Portal.
  • Step 2: Click the ‘Login’ button. 
  • Step 3: Enter your credentials and OTP to log in. 
  • Step 4: Click on the ‘E-EPIC Download’ tab on the homepage.
  • Step 5: Select the ‘EPIC No.’ or ‘Form Reference no.’.
  • Step 6: Enter the EPIC number or the reference ID number, select the State as Uttar Pradesh and click on the ‘Search’ button. 
  • Step 7: The Voter ID details will be displayed on the screen. Click on the ‘Send OTP’ button. Please note that your mobile number must be updated on the NVSP to receive the OTP. You can update your mobile number on the NVSP website by filling ‘Form 8’.
  • Step 8: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click the ‘Verify’ button.
  • Step 9: Once the OTP is verified, click the ‘Download e-EPIC’ button.

How to Update Address in Voter ID in Uttar Pradesh Online? 

  • Log in to the official National Voters Services Portal.
  • Navigate to the ‘Shifting of Residence/Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll’ section on the main page.
  • Click on the ‘Form 8’ button and you will be directed to a new page for entering the required details.
  • Choose the option ‘Self’ and then click ‘Submit’.
  • Select ‘Shifting of Residence’ and then choose either ‘Within Assembly Constituency’ or ‘Outside Assembly Constituency’ before clicking ‘Ok’.
  • Select your ‘State, District and Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency’, and then click ‘Next’.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number, email, and mobile number, and then click ‘Next’.
  • Enter the new address and provide the necessary supporting documents for the address change.
  • Upload the supporting document and click ‘Next’.
  • Complete the declaration, enter the captcha code, and click ‘Submit’.

By following the steps outlined, your request will be processed by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Once the processing is complete, the necessary changes will be made to your Voter ID card.

How to Update Address in Voter ID in Uttar Pradesh offline?

  1. Go to your nearest Electoral Office.
  2. Request and collect Form 8.
  3. Fill in all the required information on Form 8.
  4. Submit Form 8, along with proof of residence document, to the nearest Electoral Office.
  5. Wait for your application to be processed and verified.
  6. Once your details are confirmed, you will receive a new Voter ID card.

How to Apply for Uttar Pradesh Duplicate Voter ID Card Online/ Offline? 

  • Step 1: Access the Election Commission of India's website and download 'Form EPIC-002', or pick up the form from your nearest Electoral Office.
  • Step 2: Complete the form with all required information such as your name, age, relative’s name, address, EPIC details, and more.
  • Step 3: Attach necessary documents including a copy of your Aadhaar card and FIR, among others, to the completed form and submit it at your nearest Electoral Office.

Once your application is processed and verified, you will receive a notification to collect your duplicate Voter ID card from your local Electoral Office.
