How to login to your account on www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
To access the India income tax login page, you have to go to the homepage of the government portal, where you will see a box on the right side that has a ‘Login Here’ button for registered users.
Once you have clicked on that button, you will be taken to the login page where you have to enter in your username and income tax login password.
Remember: The user ID is your PAN number.

On the homepage of the government portal, the first option to the right is a button for new users to register.
Once you have clicked on that button, you will be taken to a registration form that will ask you to select your user type.
After selecting your user type, the next page is where you need to enter your basic details.
Enter your personal details and click on continue. Make sure that you fill your surname and date of birth as per your PAN.
Create an account on the Department website with a strong password and select primary and secondary questions. Provide your mobile number and email id. Be sure to enter an email address and phone number that is currently in use.
Fill up your residential address, fill up the code and click on ‘submit’.
You will get a confirmation message on the next screen.
The last step to activate your income tax account is to login to your email id and click on the activation link received from income tax site.
Enter the one-time password you have received on your mobile phone on the screen.
You would have successfully registered with the Income Tax Department website. You can now login to your account to access your ITR-V, view e-filed returns and e-verify your income tax return.
