If your company was acquired by another company during the financial year, or if there was any company restructuring, you will get a Form 16 with two Part As and one Part B from your employer for e-filing.
Form 16 – Part A includes details of the TAN of the employer, TDS deducted etc.
If your company was acquired or merged mid-year, you’ll see different TAN numbers in both the Part As.
In Form 16 Part-B, you’ll see details of your income and all the deductions given on your total income.
Step 1 Go to www.cleartax.in and click on ‘Start your tax return’
Step 2 Select ‘Continue here’
Here you’ll see total income from salaries and TDS deducted from one TAN only.
Step 3 Fill up all the personal information and the address section.
Step 4 After filling up the Personal Information section, on the salary information page, enter the following information by looking at your first Form 16 Part A.
Step 5 After entering the details, click on ‘Save and add another salary’
Step 6 Skip the first field and just like the last screen, fill up your company name, it’s TAN number and TDS deducted by looking at the other Form 16 Part A. For the first field, scroll to the Form 16 Part B and look for line item no. 6 INCOME CHARGEABLE UNDER THE HEAD “SALARIES”.
Now, subtract ‘Income chargeable under the head ‘Salaries’ – First Form 16 Part A Salary. And enter it as income here in this section.
Step 7 You’ll see summary like this after you save:
Step 8 Next, go to Deductions’ and enter the amount in the field. Check your Form 16 for this information in Part B.
Step 9 That’s it. Continue to the next steps and click on ‘Proceed to e-filing’ on the last screen to complete filing your tax return.
Form 16 has two Part As and one Part B for e-filing with details like TAN, TDS, and income. Part A contains employer's information and TDS deducted, while Part B includes income and deductions. To file with 2 Part As, select 'Continue here' on Cleartax, enter personal info, fill salary info from both Part As, and proceed with deductions before e-filing.
