A new e-filing portal was launched on 7th June 2021 by the income tax department. The URL address of the new e-filing portal is www.incometax.gov.in.
It is mandatory to link one’s PAN with Aadhaar card as it helps the government to track all the financial transactions undertaken by the taxpayers in India. It also helps the government to keep a check on tax evasion. PAN and Aadhaar are both identity proofs of an individual. If not linked before the due date, it will be impossible to carry out financial transactions where PAN card details are mandatory. Linking PAN and Aadhaar prevents an individual from holding multiple PANs and avoids tax and other related frauds.
