Step 1: Log in to the income tax e-filing website.
Step 2: Click the ‘e-File’ tab, select ’Income Tax Returns’ and ’View Filed Returns’ option to see e-filed tax return.
Step 3: To download ITR V, click the ‘Download Form’ button of the relevant assessment year.
Step 4: The acknowledgement form will get downloaded. It is important to note that the document is a confidential one, and therefore it is password protected.
Step 5: To open this PDF, you need to enter the required default password without any spaces. It is the combination of your PAN number in lowercase and your date of birth in the DDMMYYYY format. The acknowledgement form will open before you.
