AITAF wants E-way Bills under GST to be scrapped

The All India Tax Associates Federation wants the Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley to completely do away with the the E-way Bills under GST. CBEC recently released the rules regarding use of these bills, and the AITAF thinks that the amount of time given to the recipient for accepting a bill is too less.

This can hurt small businesses who would find the required digital compliance cumbersome. Arguing that GST is supposed to help ease business by making transport of goods easier, the AITAF representatives have noted that physical verification of goods and detention of vehicles due to invalid E-way bills would only increase the trader’s compliance burden and negatively affect the movement of goods.
