The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a one-stop solution for applying to various educational schemes and scholarship services starting from student application, application processing, sanction of scholarship or scheme benefits and disbursal of scholarships to the eligible students.
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is taken as a ‘Mission Mode Project’ under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). It is a common portal containing various Central Government, University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and state government scholarships schemes.

The NSP provides the following benefits:

The scholarships available on the NSP are also known as NSP Scholarships. The scholarships available on the portal is categorised under three heads, i.e. Central Government schemes, state government schemes, and UGC/AICTE schemes.
The Central schemes are listed under the particular Ministry or department of the Central Government offering the scholarships.
The state schemes are listed under different states that offer state government scholarships.
The UGC/AICTE schemes are listed under two heads, i.e. University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Each scheme on the portal has information of the Scheme Closing Date, Defective Application Verification Date and Institute Verification Date. The Scheme closing date will show either the ‘scheme open till’ date or ‘scheme closed on’ date, respectively. The scheme’s guidelines and the FAQ documents are listed below each scheme.
