E-way Bill May Be Delayed by a Few Months

With all eyes on the GST launch on July 1st, the Centre may postpone the E-way bill GST by a few days to focus all resources towards a successful launch. However, since the state governments are reluctant to defer the provision, the government has now roped in the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to see if an e-way bill system can be created within the time available.

The e-way bill requires all goods in transit above Rs. 50,000 to be pre-registered online.
