TRACES is the website for the TDS reconciliation and correction enabling system. An undertaking of the Income Tax Department, the website enables easy filing of TDS/TCS correction statements by deductors. TDS deductors can register on TRACES and easily file online correction statements. For taxpayers, TRACES is useful in viewing and downloading their Form 26AS. In this article, we will learn how to log in to TRACES.
Step 1: Log into TRACES portal and you will come across a pop-up. At the bottom of the pop-up, you will see a Continue button. Click on it.
Step 2: Once you’re on the homepage, click on the Login link at the top of the left navigation bar.
Step 3: You will be taken to a page where you need to fill out the login credentials.
You will need to register with the TRACES website if you haven’t before.
A deductor can perform the following actions on TRACES:
Step 1: Go to the TRACES website
Step 2: Click on ‘Register as New User’
Step 3: Select ‘Deductor’ as type of User
Step 4: Provide applicable details to register on TRACES as a deductor
