Latest Update:
Please note that the last date to link Aadhaar with UAN and PF was 31.12.2021. Thus, the option to link Aadhaar with UAN and PF is no longer available on the EPFO portal, Umang App or EPFO office.
If you want to withdraw funds from your PF account, it is important to link your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) account with your Aadhaar number. This is one of many benefits of linking your EPF account with your Aadhaar number. Just like how Aadhaar number recognises an Aadhar card, Universal Account Number (UAN) identifies an EPF account.
Linking your Aadhaar with the Provident Fund(PF) account is now mandatory.
The linking can be done either online on the EPFO portal or offline.
The employee needs to follow the steps mentioned below to link his/her PF to his/her Aadhaar:
Step 1: Login to the Unified Portal of Employees’ Provident Fund and click on ‘For employees’, followed by ‘UAN Member e-Sewa’
Step 2: Enter UAN and password to log in to the portal.
Step 3: Click on ‘Manage’ on the top panel and then on ‘KYC’
Step 4: On the next page, under the ‘Add KYC’ tab, provide your bank, PAN and Aadhaar, passport, driving license, election card and ration card details. Then click on ‘submit’. After submitting, you can find these details under the ‘Pending KYC’ tab. Once approved by the employer (which would generally take 15 days), it will be shown under the ‘Approved KYC’ tab.
Linking your Aadhaar to the EPF account will help in a faster withdrawal and transfer process and for that, the present employer should have approved and verified the KYC including the employee’s Aadhaar details.
