In today's fast-paced world, mobile banking has become an essential tool for managing finances on the go. This blog will walk you through everything you need to know about SBI's mobile banking — from registering and activating your account to exploring the key features of YONO and YONO Lite. You'll also learn how to log in, reset your MPIN, use SMS codes, check transaction limits, and follow essential dos and don’ts to ensure safe mobile banking.
SBI offers two primary mobile banking apps:
App Name | Purpose | Key Features |

|
YONO Lite SBI | Lightweight app for basic banking needs |
|
Choose YONO SBI for a comprehensive experience or YONO Lite SBI for essential banking functions.
For those without existing Internet Banking credentials, registering for SBI Mobile Banking is a straightforward process using your ATM card and registered mobile number. Within the mobile banking application, simply select the "New User Registration" option. You'll then be guided through a series of steps, which include entering your account number, CIF number, ATM card details, and completing any necessary verification procedures.
Once your registration is approved, you'll receive an activation code via SMS on your registered mobile number. To proceed, send an SMS with the text <MBSREG> to either 9223440000 or 567676. You will then receive a User ID and a default MPIN (Mobile Personal Identification Number) via SMS. Enter this User ID and default MPIN within the SBI mobile banking app to finalize the activation. You'll then be prompted to set your own personalized login MPIN, after which you'll have full access to all the active features of SBI mobile banking.

The process will typically require you to provide your account details and, for verification purposes, potentially your ATM card details, along with answering some security questions.
Transaction limits within SBI mobile banking are determined by your account type and the security measures you've chosen. In most cases, you can adjust these limits, or revert to the default settings, either through the app's settings menu or by contacting SBI customer care.
