tips to stay ahead financially.
In today's fast-paced world, convenience is paramount, and mobile banking has become an essential tool for managing finances on the go. State Bank of India (SBI), a leading bank in India, provides a robust mobile banking platform designed to put your banking needs at your fingertips. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about SBI mobile banking, from the initial login and registration process to understanding transaction limits and accessing customer support.
SBI offers two primary mobile banking apps: YONO SBI (comprehensive features) and YONO Lite SBI (lighter for basic transactions). Choose the app based on your device and banking needs.
For those without existing Internet Banking credentials, registering for SBI Mobile Banking is a straightforward process using your ATM card and registered mobile number. Within the mobile banking application, simply select the "New User Registration" option. You'll then be guided through a series of steps, which include entering your account number, CIF number, ATM card details, and completing any necessary verification procedures.
Once your registration is approved, you'll receive an activation code via SMS on your registered mobile number. To proceed, send an SMS with the text <MBSREG>
to either 9223440000 or 567676. You will then receive a User ID and a default MPIN (Mobile Personal Identification Number) via SMS. Enter this User ID and default MPIN within the SBI mobile banking app to finalize the activation. You'll then be prompted to set your own personalized login MPIN, after which you'll have full access to all the active features of SBI mobile banking.
Prerequisites:
Steps:
Step 1: Open the App: Locate the SBI YONO or YONO Lite app on your phone and tap to open it.
Step 2: Enter Credentials: Enter your Internet banking username and Internet banking password.
Step 3: Login: Tap the "Login" or "Submit" button.
Step 4: OTP (If required): You may receive a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile number for additional security. Enter this OTP in the designated field.
Step 5: Successful Login: Once your credentials (and OTP if needed) are verified, you will be logged in to your SBI mobile banking app.
If you happen to forget your SBI mobile banking MPIN (password), you can easily reset it directly through the app. Simply tap the "Forgot MPIN" (or "Forgot Password") option and follow the on-screen instructions. The process will typically require you to provide your account details and, for verification purposes, potentially your ATM card details, along with answering some security questions.
Transaction limits within SBI mobile banking are determined by your account type and the security measures you've chosen. In most cases, you can adjust these limits, or revert to the default settings, either through the app's settings menu or by contacting SBI customer care.
Customers must update their SBI Bank account with a new mobile number if they change the same. Please refer to the following steps:
