HDFC Bank NetBanking Login – ITR E-Verification Online

To validate your income tax return (ITR), verification is mandatory for it to be processed by the Income Tax Department.

Previously, verification required sending a signed copy of the ITR-V to the Central Processing Centre (CPC) in Bangalore. However, with advancements in technology, the government has introduced simpler electronic verification methods.

One convenient option is generating an Electronic Verification Code (EVC), a 10-digit alphanumeric code unique to your PAN. Note that each EVC is valid for a single return, so revised returns require a new code. Once verified through EVC, there is no need to send the physical ITR-V to CPC.
 

To e-verify using your HDFC Bank account, follow the steps in the attached guide.   

1. For verification of return form using HDFC net banking, login to your HDFC net banking account using your HDFC net banking login credentials.
2. There is a tab related to income tax filing on the home page. On selecting the e-verify option, the page will be redirected to the government e-filing portal.
3. Clicking on my account on the e-filing page will generate the EVC which will be sent to your registered email ID and registered mobile number.
4. Using the EVC you may e-verify your income tax return.

Before opting for EVC verification, ensure the following:

• Your bank is authorized by the Income Tax Department to provide EVC services.
• The mobile number and PAN name registered with the income tax portal match the records in your bank.

Note that the steps to generate EVC may vary depending on the bank.
