The Sand Sale Management and Monitoring System (SSMMS) is a portal created by Telangana to monitor and help with the sale of sand. Now, to a layman, this might sound like an odd concept – why does someone need a formal system to buy sand? Sand is a very important construction material. Since there is a general dearth of high-quality, construction-suited sand, the government regulates the sale of the same to ensure fair practices and the safety of citizens.

How do you register as a customer on the SSMMS portal?

To register on the SSMMS portal, you must:

  • Visit the official portal
  • Enter your mobile number and request an OTP
  • Enter the OTP to confirm your identity
  • This will enable the registration. You can confirm the registration by looking for your name in the customer list.

How do you book sand on the SSMMS portal?

To book sand on the SSMMS portal, you must:

  • Visit the official portal
  • Click the customer login button
  • Enter your name and password
  • Click the new booking button
  • Select your district from the drop-down menu
  • The stockyard name and corresponding status will be displayed on your screen
  • Select the desired stockyard
  • A form will open. Enter your details in the data fields
  • Click the OK button after entering the CAPTCHA code as seen on the screen to
  • Confirm the booking
  • A payment portal will open on your screen
  • Enter the relevant details to complete the payment
  • The system will generate a receipt that confirms the order. Save the receipt for future reference. 

Checking the status of an order on the SSMMS portal

To check the status of an order, you can:

  • Click on the tracking option on the homepage and select track my order from the dropdown menu
  • The order tracking page will open
  • Enter your order ID in the data field
  • Enter the CAPTCHA code displayed on the screen
  • Click the get status button
  • Your order’s status will be displayed on the screen

You can also check the status of your order via your mobile or vehicle number. To do so, you can:

  • Click on the tracking option on the homepage and select track your orders with mobile/vehicle  from the dropdown menu
  • Enter your mobile number in the data field
  • Enter the CAPTCHA code for verification
  • Click the search button
  • Your order’s status will be displayed on the screen

How to apply for bulk sand?

As a builder, you may require bulk orders of sand to ensure your projects are well underway. To order bulk sand on the SSMMS, you must first apply for the same. You can:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click the application for bulk sand button
  • A page detailing instructions will open. Read them carefully, and then click the new user or existing user button, based on what applies to you.
  • If you are new to the SSMMS portal, you must register yourself on the website. Select registration for government work or registration for private company/firm, based on what applies to you. Enter your Aadhaar UID or Aadhar VID and click the send OTP button. Enter the OTP in the data field. Fill the form that appears, and upload the required documents. Click the register button.
  • If you are an existing user, you must log in to the website (as detailed earlier). Click the new application button. A form will appear. Enter the relevant details in the data fields, and upload the required documents. Click the submit button.

For checking the status of your application, you can log into the portal and click the my applications button. It will show you the status of all the applications you have submitted.

To register a vehicle on the SSMMS, you must:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click the registration button, and then click the vehicle registration button
  • Enter the relevant details in the form that opens
  • Click the register button

How to check if your vehicle has been registered?

To check whether your vehicle has been registered, you must:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click the registration button, and then click the vehicle registration list button
  • Enter the registration number and CAPTCHA in the data fields that appear
  • Your vehicle will be displayed (if it is on the list)

  • Can government contractors also use the SSMMS for sand?

    Yes, while applying for your order, all you need to do is register yourself for government work (instead of registering as a private company). You will be able to place your orders once this is done.

    Yes, users can place both interstate orders and orders delivered within Telangana through the SSMMS.
