Step 1 – File a bank account transfer application
You need to submit a written bank branch transfer application to your home branch (the old one) or the new branch. It should contain your present branch name, account number, the new branch's name and the reason why you are requesting a branch transfer.
Step 2 – Surrender your cheque book and passbook
You must submit your cheque book, any unused cheque leaves and passbook to your home branch.
Step 3 – Submit the necessary documents
Submit all the necessary documents along with your bank branch transfer application. If there is a change in your mobile or landline number, it should be mentioned in the application as well.
Hereafter, the home branch processes your application and closes your account. A new account is opened under your name at the new branch, and the balance from your old account is transferred there.
