Village Volunteers in Andhra Pradesh – Apply Online, Salary and Eligibility

The ‘Village Volunteers System’ is the Andhra Pradesh government’s flagship programme. It aims at giving government services to the people’s doorsteps through volunteers. Under this programme, there is an election of grama village volunteers to ensure that many social benefits are delivered to the public more efficiently.

Objectives of Village Volunteers System

The primary objective behind implementing this programme is to instil trust in the government and ensure that people’s necessities are provided at their doorstep in a corruption-free and timely manner. It aims to bring governance services to people’s homes and instil trust in the government.

Eligibility of Village Volunteers System

  • Applicant must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Applicant should belong to the panchayat where he/she wants to be a volunteer.
  • Applicant must have passed degree in urban areas, inter in rural areas and 10th class or equivalent in tribal areas.
  • Applicant must be between 18-35 years.

Benefits of Village Volunteers System

Under this programme, one volunteer will cover 50 families in every village. Each volunteer will be given identity cards and receive an allowance of Rs.5,000 per month.

Application Process of Village Volunteers System

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, Andhra Pradesh, facilitates online registration to recruit a grama or ward volunteer post. Following is the application process:

  • Visit the Grama/Ward Volunteer website.
  • Click on the ‘Apply Now/Login’ button.
  • Tick the declaration and click on ‘I accept’.
  • The eligibility check page will open. Enter the required details and click on the ‘Check’ button.
  • Enter the Aadhaar number, captcha code, and click on the ‘Send OTP’ button.
  • Enter the OTP sent on the mobile number and click on the ‘Verify OTP’ button.
  • When the Aadhaar number is not available, click on the ‘Aadhaar Not Available’ button.
  • Enter the mobile number and click on the ‘Send OTP’ button. Enter the OTP and click on the ‘Verify OTP’ button.
  • Enter the name, father’s name, gender, and date of birth and click on the ‘Verify Aadhaar’ button. 
  • The demography details as per the Aadhaar card will be displayed. Upload the profile image by clicking the ‘Choose File’ button, selecting the image and clicking on the ‘Upload’ button.
  • Enter the residence address for communication and village/ward details.
  • Upload the residence proof, enter the email and mobile number and click on the ‘Go and Continue’ button.
  • Select the qualification, university/board, enter the registration number, select the year of pass, type of pass, and marks secured and upload the certificate. Click on the ‘Go and Continue’ button.
  • Select whether the applicant belongs to the OC category and whether the applicant is differently abled. Click on the ‘Apply’ button.
  • Tick the declaration and click on the ‘Apply’ button. The application will be successfully submitted.

However, applicants can only apply for registration when it is open under the programme. Interested applicants can find out whether the registration to become a volunteer is open or closed on the Grama/Ward Volunteer website. Currently, registration for this programme is closed.

Documents Required for Village Volunteers System

  • Aadhar card having the address of the same village where the applicant wishes to be a volunteer.
  • Date of birth as per the SSC certificate.
  • Proof of residence (Ration card, voter card, residence certificate or bank statement).
  • Certificate of completion of school.
  • Educational qualification proofs.
  • Community certificate (Certificate of participation in the community).
  • Certificate of residence or nativity.
  • Medical fitness certificate (PHC candidates).

Implementation of Village Volunteers System

Under this programme, one volunteer is assigned to every 50 families in every village. Ward volunteers will be appointed in towns. Village secretariats are established in each village to deliver governance to people within 72 hours. The volunteers serve as a link between the administration, the state and the people.

The responsibility of volunteers is to identify the beneficiaries, find out their difficulties and list the government programmes available to them. The volunteers will conduct door-to-door visits to eligible beneficiaries and distribute government benefits provided to them under various programmes.

The Chief Minister will analyse and monitor the village secretariat’s operations from the camp office. A total of 2.8 lakh volunteers will be involved in this programme. This programme will reach the most impoverished people to make them self-sufficient.
