Under this programme, one volunteer is assigned to every 50 families in every village. Ward volunteers will be appointed in towns. Village secretariats are established in each village to deliver governance to people within 72 hours. The volunteers serve as a link between the administration, the state and the people.
The responsibility of volunteers is to identify the beneficiaries, find out their difficulties and list the government programmes available to them. The volunteers will conduct door-to-door visits to eligible beneficiaries and distribute government benefits provided to them under various programmes.
The Chief Minister will analyse and monitor the village secretariat’s operations from the camp office. A total of 2.8 lakh volunteers will be involved in this programme. This programme will reach the most impoverished people to make them self-sufficient.
