In 2019, the Government of India launched a funding scheme to address the socio-economic disparities within the agricultural sector, known as the PM-Kisan scheme. This initiative was undertaken to assist the small and marginal farmers of India who were struggling for their financial well-being.
Under this scheme, the Central Government provides Rs.6,000 to all eligible farmers in three installments. Recently, in June 2024, the Central Government released the 17th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme.
