Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana
The Government of Bihar launched the Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana for the welfare of youth and women in the state. This yojana intends to provide self-employment for the educated youth, women and people belonging to the Most Backward Classes (MBC), minority and SC/ST community. Under this yojana, better employment opportunities are provided to the eligible people residing in Bihar by providing financial assistance to establish industrial units.

Components of Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana
The Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana has five components:

Benefits Provided Under Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana
The following are the benefits provided under this yojana:
Financial assistance up to a maximum Rs.10 lakh is given to the selected applicants for the establishment and operation of the units.
The government will provide 50% of the total project amount (maximum Rs.5 lakh) as a grant, which need not be paid back by the applicant.
The applicant will receive the remaining 50% of the total project cost (maximum Rs.5 lakh) as an interest free loan. However, 1% interest is charged on the loan amount in case of Mukhyamantri Youth Udyami Yojana.
Eligibility Criteria for Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana
Applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar.
Applicants should be women, youth or belong to MBC, SC or ST communities.
Applicants should have passed at least 10+2 or intermediate, polytechnic, ITI, diploma or equivalent degree.
Applicants’ age should be between 18-50 years.
Applicants should have a current account. In the case of proprietorship, the current individual account in the applicant’s or the firm’s current account is valid.
Who Cannot Apply for Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana
The following persons are ineligible to apply for the Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana:
Applicants working in a government job or contract job and the monthly salary is more than Rs.15,000.
Applicants availing the benefits of any scheme related to the Industries Department such as, PMEGP, Mudra Loan, SIPB, Start Up and Industrial Innovation scheme.
Applicants declared as insane by the competent court.
Applicants sentenced to imprisonment for 6 months or more by a competent court.
Applicants are elected public representatives, such as MLA, MP, MLC, Mukhiya, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat members, Municipal body representative, PACS president, Municipal corporation or Municipal council member, district council president or member.
Applicants are dealers of public distribution system, like ration shop or kerosene oil dealer.
Applicants who want to establish a unit (project) outside their district.

Permanent residence certificate.
Matriculation certificate.
Intermediate or equivalent qualification certificate.
Caste certificate.
Organisation certificate.
Aadhaar card and PAN card.
Disability certificate (if required).
Applicant photograph.
Specimen signature.
Bank statement with a cancelled cheque.
How to Apply for Udyami Yojana Bihar?
Following is the process to apply for Bihar Udyami Yojana:
Step 2: Click on the ‘Login/ Registration’ button, fill out the application and select the listed projects.
Step 3: Applications will be selected as per the district-wise target against the total applications received.
Step 4: Initially, applications will be selected by computerised randomisation method. The initially selected applications will be scrutinised at the headquarters level.
Step 5: After scrutiny of the documents, eligible applicants will be selected. Applicants must establish their project in the same district of their permanent residents.
Step 6: The selected applicants will be given training and the first installment of the project funds will be released.
How to Check Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana List?
Applicants can check the Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana list by following the below steps:
Step 2: Under the ‘Latest Update’ box, search for the announcement regarding the list of finally selected applicants and click on it.
Step 3: On the next page, click on the ‘Download’ link against the appropriate category.
Step 4: The selected candidates list will be displayed on the screen.
Release of Funds/ Installments Under the Udyami Yojana
The financial assistance under the Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana is given in three installments.
First Installment
Once the applicants are selected, they will be given 6 days training in the first phase.
After the first phase of training, the first installment amount will be given to the applicant in his/her current account.
From the amount of the first installment, a maximum of Rs.1.5 lakh can be spent for the project site preparation, Rs. 25,000 for the purchase of electricity connection safety kit and Rs.25,000 in other items.
If the applicant takes the project site on rent, 6 months monthly rent or a maximum Rs.50,000, whichever is the lower, can be spent as advance.
Second Installment
Within 90 days of receiving the first installment amount, the applicant will have to upload the utilisation certificate of the first installment on the Udyami portal.
The regional officer will check the uploaded utilisation certificate and forward it to the general manager with his recommendation.
After the general manager approves the utilisation, the applicants will be given 6 days training in the second phase.
After the second phase of training, the second installment amount will be paid in the current account of the applicant's unit.
The applicants can use a maximum of 25% of the total amount fixed for purchasing machinery as per their convenience.
Third Installment
The applicant should upload the utilisation certificate of the second installment on the Udyami portal within 90 days of receiving the amount.
The regional officer will check the uploaded utilisation certificate and forward it to the general manager.
After receiving the recommendation from the General Manager, the third installment amount will be paid to the applicants.
If the applicant spends 90% of the first/second installment, the regional officer or general manager, District Industries Centre can recommend the next installment to the applicant.
