The Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojana (MVPY) provides financial assistance to senior citizens in Bihar. The Bihar MVPY was launched on 1 April 2019 by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri. Nitish Kumar to render financial support to elderly people. It is a state-run old-age pension scheme where the beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension.
Under this scheme, the state government will render financial assistance in the form of a pension to aged persons above 60 years of age in Bihar. The minimum age to get registered under this scheme is 60 years. It comes under the social welfare department. It aims to make every senior citizen in Bihar independent in their old age.

The applicants need to mandatorily have an Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) card and Aadhaar Card for obtaining benefits under this scheme. The applicants also need to mandatorily have a Bank Account with the consent to use for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The bank account of the beneficiary should be linked to Aadhaar. The pension amount will be directly credited to the bank account of the beneficiary.
